Where can we go swimming in the sea?
Ndasingane Beach is approximately a ten-minute walk along the beach or a five-minute drive from the house. Bazley Main Beach, opposite the caravan park, is another option, with lifeguards on duty during peak holiday periods. Always assess sea conditions and follow any lifeguard advice before entering the water.
Do we need a permit to drive to Ndasingane Beach?
We provide a permit and key for the access road to Ndasingane Beach. The permit covers one vehicle only. When the gate is unattended, please lock it after entering and leaving.
Is the Ndasingane access road suitable for all vehicles?
The road is unpaved and has uneven and sandy sections. After heavy rain, it can become deeply rutted and slippery. During or after wet weather, the visitor manual recommends using it only with a high-clearance 4×4 and experience of rough driving conditions.
Is there a shop nearby?
Mac Nicol’s Caravan Park has a shop for everyday essentials. Opening hours vary between holiday periods and quieter months, so please check before visiting.
What wildlife might we see?
Bazley is home to small antelope, vervet monkeys and other wildlife. Please enjoy watching animals from a distance, never feed the monkeys, and keep food out of their reach. Close doors and windows when leaving the house, and drive carefully through the village, where the speed limit is 40 km/h.
